Blog #3 Editing Analysis - Kill Bill's Whistle Scene

Starting from 0:05 to 1:35 The scene opens up with a tracking shot of Elle Driver walking inside with her stark-white outfit and her contrasting, vivid red umbrella. The camera follows closely behind Elle as the infamous "Kill Bill whistle song" is overlaid by the tip tap of her heels. She continues to walk forward, close ups of her shoes and hands gripping the umbrella foreshadowing the events to befall. It soon cuts to a frontal, low angle shot of Elle walking and thus adding to her superior position in the movie. She continues to whistle down the hall way before taking a turn to enter the women's restroom. While the shot from the front shows Elle taking a right, the shot from the back shows her taking a left. This intentional break of the 180 degree rule sets the stage of an unbecoming and tense scene Quentin Tarantino is known for. No Joke, I Tried to Focus for the Soundwalk Assignment

Glancing at my watch, it read "11:30," and I sighed. In other words, I was way too early for my job at 12:45. I was to visit my old high school, The Academy for Careers in Television and Film (shortened to ACTvF and then shortened to TvF), to discuss future projects for NYU. Despite the disgustingly orange walls and cliche attempt to make the school look a camera (no joke), TvF had the privilege of being located in one of the hidden gems of New York City: Gantry State Park, better known as LIC Piers. Taking my seat on the benches, I thought that this would be the perfect time to do my Media 160 Spring 2018 Soundwalk Assignment. 11:30 was the perfect time in my opinion. No screeching kids, no busy adults, and only the sounds of the chilling wind that tickled the skin underneath my jacket. Blog #4 - MOMI Trip

Walking through the Museum of Moving Images honestly felt like deja vu. In the fourth grade, I remember dreading museum field trips, but I never forgot the trip to MOMI – the trip that laid the foundation for my love for film and photography. The white walls and future-esque vibe that laid dormant in my memories suddenly took on form and I was attacked with a tidal wave of nostalgia. Although we did not stay long, I clearly remembered the exhibit that I found the most interesting as a fourth grader: the stop-motion section. From those many years ago, I remembered being the one who raised her hand as a volunteer eight years ago. Standing in front of the stop-motion camera, I waved hello and comically fell down. The bruise I got from that ridiculous fall popped into my head as my teacher bought me the animation flip book. I was mesmerized.
